New poll time!

Alright, its time for a poll. Look to the right and answer!

New Blog

I, Tristan hope to launch a new blog soon (on the DynaDuct account of course). The blog will be devoted to forays into metal and leather working; and also possibly primitive weapons (ie: spears and bows). I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but I really want it to. On another note, I visited my grandparents last week and I got some of my great grandfather's old scout stuff including 2 knives. One is in great condition (the sheath is broken slightly) and the other is really rusted. Heck, I'm going to start the new blog right now, and the first posts will be about the restoration of the second knife. As I'm currently obsessed with the way "raven" sounds in a name, the blog will be ravenforge.blogspot.com.

EDIT: It's launched and has its first post which is really long.

I be seein ya!

LIQUID LATEX!

I made my first liquid latex wound last night. Really fun to make. It took forever though, so I found a site where I could watch Game Of Thrones. Completely legit too, I was surprised....
OH ya, so, I coloured it with some overhead projector pens and I used  0.3 oz of liquid latex for the actually body part of the wound. I am interested in leaning how to do some zombie  make up stuff with this....

Travelin

Still in Williamsburg, but I will be headed to Pittsburgh tomorrow, so I still am not really working on anything. I have however been able to use the accumulated (so far 19 hours) to further my ventures into blender (when not playing legends of yore or reading that is). I have succesfully modeled, from the depths of my mind, a sword forged with the tendrils of imagination, thrust into this world by the work of my trackpad and keyboard. I name the sword, "Mythril: Sword of Mystery."

Anyway, here is the sword in the standard 3D view (the plane is a mirror that will show up in the render)
And here is the final rendered image of the sword. I just like the look of the mirror under the sword.

Pre-Production

The process has started for DDI's summer zombie movie! We are writing the script organizing locations/actors and it is all coming along together quite nicely. We still need to actually finish the script on paper, but we have a pretty good idea of what is going to pan out. (Well that didn't pan out... True Grit) We have some sweet stuff we want to try out also. I (wes) really think this will be a groundbreaking en devour for all of us. It's is really quite amazing to see the progress we have made. It is always fun to look back on old videos and say "That could have been a lot better..." I really think this will be a big turning point for us.

Edit: Maybe Andrew won't smile when he dies this time!

I've been busy lately...

As the title says, I've been really busy lately... Not editing like you would assume, but working on a "game" in blender. It's pretty simple so far right now it is just basic first person movement over a flat plane. But in the future, I need to choose whether to go medieval elder scrolls feel, or more modern with real guns... Leave a comment telling me which one i should do. Seriously, this thing will be . . . cheesy... It's true! It will be. I will see if I can get a tech demo on the blog soon.

Audio Books

Audio books are beast because you can multitask. That's pretty much why audio books are awesome...

Another DynaDuct?!

Some one just emailed us saying that they wanted us to delete our FB page (Not really a big deal because we never really set it up) and they want us to delete DynaDuct off of WWW. and so forth. Not really sure what to think...I am a little ticked that some one else thought of DynaDuct and did not bother to look it up before hand, but oh well, we will se how this all turns out.

Operation System

What OS do you prefer? Windows? Linux? OS X?

There are a lot of pros and cons to all the major OS' out there. I (wes) have found a love for Linux (Ubuntu  Natty Narwhal 11.04), but I also have a dual boot with Windows Xp 64 Bit. I have found that Windows and Linux side by side accompany each other very well. I have Windows for the apps, all the games. But I really don't like how over complected and step by step it is for you to be able to accomplish anything in Windows. Linux does not have games, but you can do whatever the heck you want with it. Linux in a Nutshell would give you a good idea on what Linux is about. And as for OS X, well I don't really know much because I have never owned a Mac. Tristan could probably tell you much more about OS X than I can, he is knowledgeable in the ways of Macintosh.

So that was a brief view on what my preferred OS' are, what are your favourites?
