Intensive Filming Incoming.

We have vacation this week and currently we are shooting for seven new videos to be filmed. Yes, seven gosh darned videos, you heard us right. After a brainstorming session with Ethan we have roughly ten ideas, seven of which are going to turn into films. At the moment we are currently writing up a schedule for the week consisting of times, dates, locations, etc.. Once the schedule is complete I am going to be fleshing out some of our ideas with basic scripts. Something to give the actors on set. (BAHAHAHA, I get a lot of crap for not "writing scripts" from everyone) This is going to be intense, message me on Facebook if you think you might want to help out.

The Hunger Games, my thoughts...

Let me start out by saying how much I love Suzanne Collins. Her first series, (And one of my personal favourites), The Underland Chronicles, is a must read for any lover of young adult fiction and Hunger Games fans alike. It was the excellency of her first books that lead me to discover The Hunger Games upon it's release. I remember reading it's pages and thinking, "Wow, this truly is a great!" The books were really wonderful. The movie as well was quite entertaining. Now, let's just put this out there, the movie is not as good as the book. If you think the movie is going to be like the book, your going to have a bad time. It is a reader's lot in life, movie adaptions not being what they imagined. Needless, to say, the movie was one of the best young adult book-to-film renditions I have seen. Gary Ross did an excellent work in capturing the feel of the books and the screenwriters did kept true to the book as anyone can be. All of the major details and plot points where there. That in of itself is an amazing feet. Not many writers get it that right. On the other hand, the most of the characters were not able to be developed as much as they where in the books. Very understandable though, there can only be so much screen time. Also, the acting and the casting of the various characters was quite excellent; Cinna, President Snow, Katniss all had wonderful actors. That helped bring the characters to life despite the fact they did not have much time on screen. All in all, it was a great film and if I think of people realize that it is not going to be what the books where I think they would be able to sit back and see what a good movie it really it. Yepo.

Some updates..

We have done a crap job at posting this month haven't we...

Anywho, like Tristan has said, we have a black and white zombie movie coming out. I would like to say tomorrow, but it will probably come out this weekend. We have a friend named Meghan working on it. It's a little different than Tristan, (Perma Editor) but he has been incapacitated by Finger Warfare 2. What? What is that? Exactly...*internet strangle*

Also, Of Jacks and Jokers is now getting a nice custom soundtrack by our friend DrNastas. Look him up. He has some crazy music going on.

Updates and Stuff

So I just feel like I should give you guys a quick update on what is happening in DynaDuct. We currently have 3 videos in progress: Of Jacks and Jokers, a black and white zombie film, and of course FW2. Jacks and Jokers is getting its music made right now by another youtuber (DrNastas), and as soon as that is done I'll get it up. BaW zombies is being done by meghan from TheFlynny45 and TheVlog4. And I am still doing FW2 (learning after effects for the VFX).

Of Jacks and Jokers

As I write this my hands and lips are burning with wind burn. Note to self: wear gloves.
Ok, so today we filmed another, yes another movie today. It involves a game of go fish that escalates into a bloody battle. There will be throwing cards, there will be action, there will be table flips. Here are just some brief snap shots from the original shot, Of Jacks and Jokers.

Honestly, I think this may be one of the best films we have ever made. Period. Ever thing just seemed to flow well, and the card effect came out spectacular. I thought of how to attach the playing cards in the shower. Pretty neat eh? I would like just to say also, that the original idea of a throwing card war come from my friend Dylan.

Black and White zombie film

Me, Ethan, Hackee, and Hackee's cousin Luke filmed a quick short today. It is about some friends making an action film when they are suddenly attacked by a zombie! Shocker! Everything is in black and white, why...well, I don't really know, I just liked the idea of a black and white film. We used ketchup for the zombie blood and it came out very good. Luke actually put some in his mouth and sprayed it all over the car door (Relevant to the plot.) He did not tell us and we were just talking while he was suffering with a mouthful of ketchup. We had crazy fun filming it, but I am not sure if the fun we had will be as equal to the to the film itself. We shall see, however. The zombie scene towards the end was good. That is all I have to say about that.

Kleos: Collision of Worlds

Heyo. Well, things are starting to settle down a little. I just switched schools, church, and my mother had another baby. Lot O' change going on.

Anywho. Kleos. Means something in something language because we are classy like that. (Edit: Kleos means honor and glory in Ancient Greek.) Kleos is the name of the medieval movie we have been talking about for a long time. Well, I think it has been  along time. We have been discussing it since the start of the school year. It will be based around a knight, who does not have a name as of yet. Two worlds are colliding. Our's and the land of Etrith. Creatures from their world are appearing in ours, and vice versa. Two heroes will need to stop this collision of worlds before it is to late. *Dramatic Music*

I am thinking it will be delivered in an episodic format, but we shall see when the script is complete.

Edit: Why can't we just stab people without a plot? ):

About the Poll

Here is why I chose the names in the poll.

1) Raven Forge Metalworks: I just think it sounds cool, and is a neat name for the forge. Wares would be   stamped with RFM
2) Mulciber Forge and Metalwork: Mulciber is another name for Volcan which is the Roman name for Hephaestus, who is the Greek god of beneficial fire. Wares would be stamped with MFM
3) Grieve Metalworks: Well, Grieve is my last name, so.....

Finger Warfare 2 updates

You've all been lied to. Wesley has been telling you guys that Finger Warfare 2 is progressing. [Just repeating what Tristan told me.] Well, it's not. Now I've been pretty dang lax with this project mostly due to school and just being ridiculously busy in general. But, I do have good news. In ten days is my Winter Break, thus, much work shall take place on Finger Warfare. In the meantime while everyone waits for FW2, I have a digital remastery of DynaDuctINC's first ever video coming soon! It has probably the best blood I have ever done. Here is a screenshot of it, and no, I can't make the quality better. Oh, there is also a new poll. Vote on it please? So yeah, that's about it for now. Peace off guys!

Baby time. Minecraft Server time.

We'll if you are wondering about the absence of blog posts it is because my mother dearest just had another child. This new little sister has been quite a handful and she has been keeping me readily incapacitated. When I am not dealing with my sister I am playing Minecraft with Ethan and Tristan. etrith.hopto.org is the IP if your interested. It is a faction/mcmmo/rpg/medieval server. All of the factions are based of Game of Thrones. It's fun stuff. We maxed out all 15 slots when we made it public yesterday. Since then people have dabbled.

Finger Warfare 2 is nearing completion and I have started writing some scripts for upcoming films. Tristan is also going to remaster When Zombies Strike with FCE. Tristan has also almost completed his forge. We are going to be able to forge our own weapons for the medieval movie. Who else does that!

Midterms...

Well, its been a long couple of weeks. Both me and Tristan had midterms and Hackee's are next week. Me, Hackee and Ethan where able to go to the local school's film festival and it gave us some cool ideas. We really want to make a video and a movie about Dover. There are a lot of special places around Dover and I see many possibilities for really cool camera angles and such. We are still deciding what song we want to do for the music video. When we do we can start planning that and I think it will be really sweet.

Short new video and stuff

Ok so here is the short new video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOMZzKQM_VU

And the stuff is that Josh, Wes, and I (Tristan) are going to start building pulse jets and other simple jets. At least I hope so.... Finger Warfare 2 hasn't been worked on in about a week because of midterms.

A sad day

Well, I have bad news. Our friends mom who had been battling lung cancer for a while died recently.

Armor

Wes told me that I should write a post about my chainmaille, so here goes. So the chainmaille is 16-18 gauge mild steel, and the rings are butted. It was $150 dollars from here (Warning, NSFW). It weighs about 30 pounds but is very fluid and the weight is distributed fairly well; especially with a belt. It came covered in grease, so I washed it off in the sink with some dish detergent then sprayed it with a little bit of WD40 (although something called fluid film works better). Washing then re-oiling seems counter productive, but the oil is a lot less nasty than the grease. It is currently stored in a bin with a towel on the bottom and top to absorb moisture. Chainmaille is great. If you're a nerd, you should definitely get some. If you want something less functional and lighter (12 pounds) check out thinkgeek's aluminum chainmaille shirt.

Hasta Luego!

New video, and matte painting attempt

So yesterday, we filmed a short video (and by short I mean it's about 4 minutes long). It's an action movie with some espionage like themes. It has like 2 muzzle flares, so I can probably get it up really soon and hold you over for FW2. So here is the plot. An operative is sent in to rescue a hostage being held by a member of The Rain. When he gets there, he unties the captive and is confronted by the member of The Rain. The operative is given a choice. You will have to watch the video when it comes out to see how it ends. I had a lot of fun (cold, but fun) acting the part of The Rain, and I talk with a Russian accent the entire time which is pretty fun. On an unrelated note, I also tried my hand at matte painting. I did this on my phone and it is only a still image, so if I were to do it in GIMP the right way, it could be much better. Oh, and looking at it on my phone made it look better than it is... lol.

Finger Warfare 2 updates and release date.

I was at Tristan's house yesterday and was able to see the latest cut of FW2. The audio is sweet. Zoom A1 Audio for the win! But alas, there is much work to be done. The entirety of the shots must be synched and  there is little to no VFX as of yet. Tristan will make an edit and tell you a more precise date, but as of now we are shooting for the end of Christmas break. Also, Tristan received a forge for his birthday (Edit: Actually its just the firepot assembly, so the rest will have to be hand built). This means we can begin learning to forge armour at a faster pace. We are making the armour for the "Medieval Movie" (Another edit: Didn't I tell you it should be titled Kleos?). It does not have name yet, but it will be the biggest thing we have ever done. It will probably be filmed in a few years. It's a big project. We will need better software, better cameras, better preparations. It's going to be amazing. Our magnum opus you could say.

Zoom A1 Audio

Syncing up Audio is pretty annoying.... Just saying.

Christmas Time is near

CHRISTMAS! I don't know about you but Christmas is flippin' awesome. It's really cool that I can actually get gifts for people this year because I mowed lawns all summer and have money. Last Christmas was good for DDI for Tristan got Final Cut Express which is what we have used for every video since then. Hey, this is our second Christmas as a channel, that's pretty neat. Who would have thought we would have kept at it. With expectations so low for teenagers, you can do anything and be awesome, which is kind of  a society fail I think...

No new news on Finger Warfare 2, it's just being, well, edited (*slams head into desk* -Tristan). That's pretty much it.

What do you want for Christmas? (Chain Maille! -Tristan)
